A SECOND LOOK
A question to carry into the reading
Use the tesamorelin profile to trace the steps between an observation and a conclusion. If a passage moves from something recorded to an explanation of why it happened, write those as separate statements. Then identify the support offered for the connection between them. Repeat the exercise if the explanation is used to predict another result. An appealing explanation should not fill a missing step in your notes merely because it sounds coherent. You can leave a link in the argument open. That is more informative than presenting the whole chain as equally established when you have located support for only part of it.
Questions to keep beside the page
- Which part of this passage reports an observation, and which part interprets it?
- What support connects the recorded result to the proposed explanation?
- Does the conclusion require another step that the citation leaves open?
